Major Assignment 2 Reflection:

Choosing which sources to use was extremely difficult since I had numerous topics I wanted to cover. Some really stood out to me, like the ethical application of biometric facial recognition technology, which was absolutely fascinating. You can see in my annotated bibliography that one of the sources I picked talked about how governments are using facial recognition to control their populations, and it really opened my eyes to a whole new level of surveillance I hadn’t fully thought about before. Another source I found super interesting was Surveillance Capitalism and the Challenge of Collective Action, because it dove into how companies aren’t just tracking individuals anymore — they’re shaping entire groups and societies without people even realizing it. It made me realize that surveillance isn’t just about privacy; it’s about power too. Picking only a few sources from so many important topics was honestly one of the hardest parts for me.
